At age 76, Ruth Matthews Bell embarked on a poetry writing journey. Inspired by her rap-singer/writer grandaughter, “Devynity,” Ruth began to write based on her life experiences and society in general.
Born in Harlem Hospital in New York City, Ruth married three times and bore three children; the late Reverend Theodore Sadler, Carole Sligh-Jackson and Rhonda Wray. Widowed recently, her main endeavor is to publish these memoirs and odes to loved ones and also to make comment on societal change.
