Have you ever been bullied? Are you a bully? Bullying, or hazing, takes many forms—name-calling and intimidation are the most obvious. When someone establishes a position of power over someone else and the stress of the matter creates discomfort to the victim, bullying is in effect.
Season of Haze is the account of Jacob, a fourteen-year-old who joins the school basketball team to deal with his rapidly changing life. Besides falling victim to the maliciousness of a senior player on his team, Jacob must combat the temptations that have derived from his crush on Melanie next door. Will Jacob withstand the temptations of street drugs, sex, and being hazed before matters go too far?
