Hi! My name is LaVerne Baker. I live on the West Coast. I have two grown children and seven grandchildren. I am forty-nine, and I work in the transportation field. I read, write, cook, and travel, and the thing I like about traveling is trying different foods and seeing and meeting new people. I have been coast to coast, learning about different cultures and their cuisine.
I grew up in a small town, which has now tripled in population. My family is four generations strong, and we have a lot of get-togethers that involve a lot of cooking and decorating. Our family is very diverse, so we get to eat a lot of different dishes. I love to cook and see folks enjoy what they are eating and drinking.
My grandfather was a cook, and my great-grandfather owned a barbecue business in the great state of Texas, so I believe that’s probably where I got the passion of wanting to cook.
