Breakfast at Mikey's House
by Karen Walker
Parents are their children’s best teachers. They share a closeness that cannot be matched. So it is in the relationship between a son and a mother as they enjoy Breakfast at Mikey’s House. As they enjoy their morning meal, Mikey and his mom have a conversation about the animals outside their kitchen window. They see birds, a squirrel, a bunny, a groundhog, a fawn, and Mikey’s least favorite of all, a skunk.
The conversation is magical, because not only does Mikey learn about wildlife, the bond between a mother and her son is made stronger. This is the greatest lesson of all.
