Where have all the elephants gone? And the rhinos, too? Despite appeals to humans, the slaughter goes on. Greedy poachers kill Elephants solely for their tusks, despite alternatives to ivory for use in crafts and jewelry, like soapstone. And even though there is no proof that the rhino’s horn has any value as medicine, the killing continues.

Africa is a very large continent and there are not enough rangers to patrol its vast plains. Education is the only hope for survival these animals have. Alphonso Adventures: How Elephants Lost Their Tusks is a part of that effort—an effort to put pressure on people not to purchase ivory or rhino-horn products.

The author is donating the proceeds from this book to the African Wildlife Fund for the preservation of endangered species.
